Handling kids is easier said than done and this task becomes all the more difficult when your child has mixed kinky hair. Parents with curly haired kids face a lot of challenges while managing their kids’ hair; but by following some helpful tips for kids with mixed kinky hair, all these problems can vanish away.

Tips for Kids with Mixed Kinky Hair

  • Use a Comb on Your Kid’s Hair: Never use a hairbrush on your child’s kinky hair. Hairbrushes do more harm than good to kinky hair; hence you should use a wooden comb on your little one’s hair. Try getting a wide-toothed wooden comb as it removes tangles from curls easily and also reduces frizz.
  • Divide your Kid’s Hair in Sections while Combing it: Always divide your child’s hair in 3 or 4 small sections before you comb it or apply any product on it. This results in less hair breakage and also makes it easier for you to comb your kid’s hair or apply some product on it.
  • Oil your Child’s Curls: Kinky hair is very dry and lacks moisture; hence, to keep your child’s hair hydrated, you should oil it at least once a week. You could use coconut, almond or olive oil as all these three oils work well on kinky hair.
  • Wash your Child’s Hair At least Twice a Week: You should always remember that the way to get healthier hair is to keep them clean so make sure that you wash your kid’s hair at least twice a hair. Do not wash it more than three times a week as frequent washing can dehydrate your baby’s hair. Use a curly hair shampoo on your little one’s hair and shampoo his hair using cool water; and do not forget to condition it as well.

Practice these tips for kids with mixed kinky hair to make your child’s hair soft and beautiful.
