Having three siblings with kinky curls has taught me a lot about curly hair care and ways to enhance the texture and quality of convoluted and coiled curls. A couple of years back, I found three really fantastic masks for curly hair that helped my siblings a lot so I’m  sharing them with you. These hair masks can be easily made at home.

Lemon and Banana Mask

Take 1 banana, 1 tbsp of olive oil, ½ cup honey and 1 tsp of lemon juice. Mash the banana in a bowl and add the rest of the ingredients in it; mix all the ingredients well till you get a thick mixture of a single consistency. Apply this mixture on wet hair; make sure that every strand of your curls is covered in it and leave it on for about 30-40 minutes. Then, wash your hair with slightly warm water. This mask reduces split ends, nourishes your scalp and strengthens your kinky curls.

Castor Oil and Egg White Mask

Take 3 egg whites and 1 tbsp castor oil. Beat the egg whites in a container until they become stiff; then add castor oil in it and mix it well. Apply the mixture to slightly damp hair and keep it on for about half an hour and wash it with lukewarm water. This hair mask reinforces the curls and makes them shinier and silkier.

4 Oil Mask

Take about half a cup each of castor oil, almond oil, olive oil and coconut oil. Mix all these oils in a container and warm it in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds. Apply this mixture to damp hair and cover your kinky curls with a towel or shower cap and keep it on for 40 minutes. Rinse your curls with warm water. Use this mask twice a week and within two weeks, your kinky curls will become softer and shinier than before.
