  • jazzycurlz_Patience is important! Try to have friends who are going through that knitsbykim1Needing all the advice you can give. I haven’t had a relaxer since May and I can see about 2 inches of new growth. Question: my new growth is wavy, will that mean my pattern is going to be wavy?
  • tellherhomegirlPersistence, persistence, and persistence lol. It’s an ongoing challenge but the end result will be worth it.
  • levongreentvCover your hair up at night… deep condition weekly (at least). Don’t get caught up in the “hair envy” and love yours!
  • levongreentv@knitsbykim1 it is likely your hair pattern is wavy. I’ve noticed the same thing for my own hair in the front and sides
  • taylor.xl@knitsbykim1 when you cut the perm ends off your curl pattern will be tighter. Its looser with permed ends because the ends are weighing your curls down
  • jovanni_cdKeep a simple and consistent routine. It’s easy to get sucked into trying every new product that comes out, but you need to give your hair time to figure out what works and what doesn’t.
  • adrianasoto_I want my hair to grow, any advice? ??
  • a.by.a22Embrace your crown and don’t compare your growth and progress to others. Low hair manipulation hair styles are a must. Deep condition weekly. Buy products that work for your hair, not what’s popular. Lastly, be patient. The hair is growing even when you don’t think it is.
  • bombshell_layPatience & Faith !
  • bigmouthmarthadont expect the same results as anyone else// use products for your hair// using the same products as someone else with a different curl pattern wont change your hairs curl pattern

  • curlymamaonabudgetLots of patience and scrunchies.
  • trish_deniseMe right now.
  • nodiepieI know having short hair may be uncomfortable at first, but not every style is “protective”. Step away from the tight sew ins with flat-ironed leave outs and the super tight, long braids. They do more harm then good most time. Oh, and shampoo is your friend ?
  • jaeeemonaeeeDeep condition and let it do its thing !
  • __staccyWork in sections

  • _lovejones1012I need advice!!!!! ??? I have only been natural a little over 2 years and I have a portion of my hair where there is no curl definition at all. Where I can’t even do a wash and go. It’s very loose and will not even curl with product. I have used heat in almost 3 years but I do wear my hair pulled up in a pony tail a lot. Hair type is between 3c-4a very curly. I don’t know what to do!! I don’t want to cut it all off and start over again!!! I need some help on what I need to do!! ??
  • well_that_was_unexpected_Can someone recommend me a chemical free hair creme and deep conditioner perferably natural ingredients . I’ve been using cantu for 2 years. • __yanasworldDo research about your hair and be patient!!
  • queen_akilah16It’s gonna be hard to not straight or relax your hair. But you’ll get used to it
  • stereoroseChange your hair tools; for instance I changed my hair brush from hard nylon bristles to soft but firm boar bristles. I can’t help that my hair is always in a bun, and my new brush seems to be working for me.
  • curly_debby_82@shevymc ? so true
  • stereorose@jadajarvis I’m trying, but it’s so hard not to! ?
  • cocotteishaDon’t get caught up in buying and trying too many products, stick to only a few at a time! And as your hair changes, you might need to switch products up. Finally, a product might not work well right now, but for some unknown reason, it could give you bomb hair in a few months!
  • dixona100Be patient and it’s no about buying every product.
  • unlucky_saOnly u who know what perfect for your hair
  • ashlemonade1. Finding the right products for your hair is trial and error but once you find what works, stick with it! 2. Be patient and take care of your hair! Make sure you keep your ends clip to remove slip and dead ends! 3. MOISTURIZE! MOISTURIZE! MOISTURIZE! ???
  • chloescorouchesdon’t depend strictly on opinions of bloggers/gurus. it’s your hair, try and test out different things and find what works. also, there are some great cheap products with silicones & all that that work great. FIND WHAT WORKS FOR YOUUU! ?

  • tissy618Hang in there
  • tissy618@rondeenwaller right!!!
  • tissy618@stereorose so true. I don’t think people know this is very important
  • curlygirlinzPatience. At the beginning, it’s possible that you will experience a transitioning period. This doesn’t mean the product isn’t right for you. Stick to it for a while. And please, add deep conditioning to your routine. Your hair will need a lot of TLC.
  • naturally_blessed_triniMoisturize.
  • micamcMoisturize, detangle, routine daily ??
  • cheysieraThrow away your flat iron
  • jessmeonlyoneWater is your friend.
  • bright7981Don’t go into this thinking your hair will look or behave like anyone else’s. Suggestions and ideas from others are ok until you discover what works for your hair. Also find a loose style that is your go to and an up do that you can do in a pinch. Hair accessories are your friends. Make a little hair travel kit for your purse or car in case of emergency.
  • bright7981Use ignorant amounts of conditioner (after washing, leave ins, and detangling) and your hair will thank you.
  • cheathamtoscaPatience
  • 4evermrscwYour journey is just that, your journey!! Don’t dwell on why your hair doesn’t look like or grow the same as the next person! Your hair is unique!

  • kelsey_lavonteDon’t follow everyone on YouTube , it will drive you crazy following what everyone on video tells you?
  • lenrete@cheysiera that was the hardest part… I was always tempted so finally I big chop and now my hair is so short if I straighten them it’ll be ugly so I don’t have any choice other than keeping natural !!!
  • curlyjaymcclainDont try to detangle your hair when you’re stressed or irritated. ?
  • crazysexycurleeeBe very patient and trust the process!!
  • pinterestperfectpaganEat healthy! Drink lots of water! Don’t spend to much money buying the most expensive products, there are more affordable products that work just as well if not better!
  • godislove4144Be Patient Don’t Give Up!
  • _max_doeTake yo time girl! Your growth speed is NOT everyone’s growth speed!
  • prettyandlushWhen you first go natural your hair will feel and look super dry and it takes time to see your natural curl pattern just take your time getting to know your hair and what to put in it to make and keep it moisturized
  • mamawilliamsDo not ever tug at the curls when detangling
  • jo_see_44@mazzabruno80@michelle_knight9

  • jahaira73@soy_una_hija_del_rey thank you…right now I have it at about 3-4 in. It’s been 2 weeks now with no heat. Trying my best to continue.
